Keeping cycle lanes clear  (09.08.10)

 

Dynamo has asked Lancashire County Council to try to ensure that loading and parking regulations on cycle lanes - particularly King Street and the new cycle contra-flow on Lower Church Street in Lancaster - are respected.  Extra visits are being made, and there should be an improvement.

New toucan crossing on Thurnham Street, Lancaster (27.06.10)

 

A new crossing has been installed to cross the one-way system at the end of Quarry Road.  Together with the other cycling infrastructure recently put in place (e.g. two-way cycling in upper Penny Street), this facilitates the east-west crossing of Lancaster city centre and is of particular benefit to novice cyclists.

Crossing on Thurnham Street

Traffic lights are now working.  Note permitted cycling on the pavement from Marton Street to the crossing - thus avoiding the mad dash across Thurnham Street and bunny hop onto Aalborg Place.
